I graduated from Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School is 2001. I attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN for my bachelors and masters degrees.
I am currently a part of the Ready, Set, Teach science program at Arkansas State University.
This will be my third year here at FME. I have taught 1st grade since being here. I also help to oversee the S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) program. I am a Girl Scout troop leader for the girls at Fox Meadow Elementary.
After college, I moved to Yichang, China and taught English and American Culture at China Three Gorges University for two years. In 2008, I moved back to Nashville, TN and taught/worked at Una Elementary.I taught 4th grade for two years and then served as Family Coordinator/Literacy Coach/Title 1 ESEA for two years. I took a year off and then went back to teach 1st grade for two more years at Una before moving to Arkansas.
My family includes “Mr. Justin” and our sweet pup, Charlie.
When I am not teaching, you can find me reading a book, trying out a new recipe, traveling to some place new, cheering for the Auburn Tigers (War Eagle!), or going on some adventure. I am a life long learner and self-declared nerd. I am a breast cancer survivor and choose to soak up this sweet life as much as possible.
